Nice tune. I didn't know it was called this. Now I do. Thanks!
This song is so beautiful OMG what else i could say about it
Onvergetelijke muziek
This music is magical. Look at all the comments and the emotions it involves. We all have our personal ones when listening to this masterpiece. Early in my career as a pilot, I work for a family who had a home on a remote island in the Caribbean. I had to remain there in case there was a medical emergency, and I sort of integrated and assimilated. It was a beautiful time for me, and it launched me into a future of seeing the world, but I’ll never forget my innocence and wonder of what I was about to encounter. It’s almost over now, as I will be retiring soon. But I will never forget, being a young “Stranger By The Shore”. I hope everybody’s thoughts are as pleasant as mine.
I would like to play this for my one and only. love.
Has a little girl I heard this Song on the radio in the 60’s… my dad Loved it🥰❤️
I played my clarinet along with the record and called my mother at her work and let her listen. I was 14.
Ackerman Bilk is proof that there is a God, there’s no other explanation for this heavenly music.
In 2020 during covid, my father had the very rare allergic reaction of Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) during an operation. At the time, five chief physicians/surgeons didn’t understand what was was happening. For four weeks he was in intensive care. I was granted to be able to visit him in total of three times. Out of the times, his eyes were open in two scenarios. I played this song for him once while he was “awake”. It was the song I remembered he listened to the most on cassette while driving with me as a child. I never got to asked him what other music/tracks he liked. I’m glad he got to show me this and that I got to played it for him one last time.
Awosm❤❤❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰😘
"Stranger On The Shore" was one of three instrumentals that topped the pop chart in 1962-The other two were "The Stripper" & "Telstar".
Finally, she gives him a little attention… he saved her a lot of embarrassment.

Love is nature's way of fooling history.
Just Listen………..
Mr Holland's Opus and a brief conversation with the actress/musician, Alicia Witt brought me here.
Born 1957,how lucky was i.Ive lost both parents and a child and others dear to me but i know i will reunite with them when my time comes,i do not fear the passing of life, its just part of the journey.
It's a song from a beautiful memory of an unforgettable young day. It still makes my heart race whenever I listen to it.
This song was always on the radio when I was a kid in the 60,s. Life was happy then even though we had nothing.
Reminds me of when i was a young lad, and I had all my family by my side, I am now alone and this reminds me of those special times
Remember watching the TV series about a young French girl in England as far as I remember, hence "stranger on the shore", beautiful song
This speaks to me of a married couple who where still deeply in love with and committed to each other Theirs was a mature love that shared and endured the joys the tears and losses in life together And now one of them has passed away The remaining one is now faced with a new challenge of facing life without their true love They feel the sting of loss and the darkness of depression and despair BUT they come to the realization and accept the fact that life goes on And if the couple were Christians they have the hope of some sweet Day of being reunited together again in the Presence of the LORD in the fullness of joy forever and ever Amen!!!
I am 51 and this song is absolutely gorgeous
I was born 1949,... at 13, I WORE the 45. Out...Thanks
It reminds of school days 71 now63 4 5 I think 🤔
I grew up listening to my Dad playing Acker Bilk, Billy Vaughn (Saxophone) Mills Bros, Nat King Cole etc in 1950 -1960's. We as children were so fortunate to have good soothing music in our ears. It was part of character forming. This is one of my favourites!! Simply beautiful music. From South Africa
This reminds me of my Dad. I would fall asleep to his music.. Miss you
I cry every time I hear. Reminds me of my deceased parents whom I miss terribly
So many touching comments by people moved emotionally by this tune. The last clear memory I have of a day with my dad, is sitting in a cafe (Snowline Lodge) with him in Oakhurst Ca. in the Summer of 1960... this was playing in the background....I was 10 & he dropped dead at home shortly after.
i was born 1959&remember my mum playing it on the radio xxx.❤
My first cousin loved this song when she was young. She died last year barely in her 80s. I was about 10 years younger than her and I loved this song too.

I was born in 1952 and this lovely piece and Summer Place brings tears to my eyes as I remember my Parents and being a kid in the Best time in America a🇺🇸‼️🙏
I am 40, so I can't claim to be old enough to remember this song. I can safely say that it is one of my parents' favorites, though---I heard them listening to it about five to ten minutes ago as of the time this comment was made. Hearing this makes me feel melancholic. Both of my parents are well along in years---my dad's part of the baby boomer generation, and my mom's a little older--but at least there will always be pleasant memories to consider.
This takes me back to happier days when life seemed so full of promise.
Music that goes far beyond amazing or beautiful...!!!
Takes me back in time to my childhood.
Wanderers movie brought me here. Haven't heard this in years.
This was our wedding dance song
